Honda has premiered the CB-F Concept, a tribute to the iconic CB900F (CB750F in Japan), a 998cc, inline-four bike from the late 1970s and early 1980s. This global model brought to the six-decades of CB models an iconic status and made it the most popular acronym in the retro motorcycle scene. The CB-F concept was announced on Honda’s Virtual Motorcycle Show following the suspension of the 36th Osaka Motorcycle Show 2020 and the 47th Tokyo Motorcycle Show due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Talking about the styling, the fuel tank and the boxy bodywork of the CB-F Concept definitely look borrowed from the 80s. And other design elements like the simple round headlight, the floating tail section, and the striking retro livery further assert that fact. Also, the dual visible horns and Honda's signature cascading quadruple exhaust add to the bike's old-school charm.
The CB-F concept is a classic bike with modern tech. It is powered by a 998cc 998cc water-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, inline 4-cylinder DOHC engine and is paired to a six-speed manual transmission. The bike sits on a lightweight, high-tensile steel mono-backbone structure. Suspension duties are carried out by inverted front forks and a single-side rear suspension arm with Pro-Arm configuration. The bike measures 2,120mm in length, 790mm in width and 1,070mm in height.
